10x10x1 Aerostar Air Filter

About this product

The 10x10x1 Aerostar pleated filter ships at an actual size of 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" x 3/4", which is the trade-standard undersize for a nominal 10x10x1 return. That gap matters: a true 10-inch filter won't seat in a 10-inch grille, and an oversized one tears its frame trying. Three MERV grades cover the typical residential range. MERV 8 handles standard dust, lint, and pollen for households without specific air quality concerns. MERV 11 steps up for pet dander, mold spores, and finer dust if you've got animals or mild allergies. MERV 13 captures smoke, virus carriers, and the fine particulates that matter during wildfire season or for households with asthma. Pleated synthetic media gives you significantly more surface area than a flat fiberglass throwaway, so the filter holds more debris before pressure drop becomes a problem. The electrostatic charge built into the media pulls particles smaller than the weave alone would catch. Manufactured by Con-Air Industries in Orlando, Florida. Recommended change interval is 60 to 90 days for MERV 8 and 11, closer to 30 to 60 days for MERV 13 in a household running pets or heavy cooking.
