14x18x1 Aerostar Air Filter

About this product

The 14x18x1 Aerostar fits a nominal 14x18x1 return at an actual size of 13 3/4" x 17 3/4" x 3/4". Choose your MERV based on the air quality concern you're actually solving for. MERV 8 covers baseline dust, lint, and pollen for standard households without pets or allergy issues. MERV 11 handles pet dander, mold spores, and smoke residue - the typical step-up for homes with cats or dogs. MERV 13 captures fine particulates down to the virus-carrier range, which matters during wildfire season or for households where someone has asthma or chronic respiratory issues. Pleated synthetic media construction gives you substantially more filter surface area than the flat fiberglass alternatives sold at hardware stores. That extra media is what lets the filter run a 60-to-90-day service cycle without choking your system. The media itself carries an electrostatic charge, pulling smaller particles than the physical weave alone would catch. The frame is reinforced cardboard, manufactured in the USA by Con-Air Industries in Orlando, Florida. Run MERV 13 closer to a 30-to-60-day change in heavy-load environments. A standard MERV 8 or 11 in an average residential system can stretch to a 90-day interval under normal conditions.
