About this product
Stepping up to a 2-inch depth in a 16x16 return gets you noticeably longer service life and less static pressure than the 1-inch equivalent. This 16x16x2 Aerostar measures 15 1/2" x 15 1/2" x 1 3/4" actual. The deeper pleats hold roughly twice the debris before pressure drop becomes a problem, which means a longer interval between changes and easier breathing room for your blower motor. MERV 8 handles standard residential dust and pollen. MERV 11 covers pet households and mild allergy concerns. MERV 13 captures the fine particulate range including smoke, bacteria, and virus-carrying droplets. The electrostatic pleated media is manufactured in the USA by Con-Air Industries, Orlando, Florida. The cardboard frame is reinforced to maintain shape under suction - frame collapse is a common failure point in budget filters, and a collapsed frame allows unfiltered air to bypass the media entirely. Expect a 4-to-6-month service life on MERV 8 and 11 in typical residential use, 2 to 4 months on MERV 13. If you're switching from a 1-inch fiberglass filter to this 2-inch pleated unit, expect a noticeable improvement in both filtration performance and the time between changes.

- GENUINE DEAL
- A real low. Good time to buy.
- INFLATED
- Not a real discount. The 'was' price is not what this really sells for.
- TYPICAL PRICE
- Normal price. Fine to buy if you need it.
- NOT ENOUGH DATA
- Too new to judge. Not enough price history yet.
