About this product
Direct fit for the Trane BAYFTFR17M air handler filter slot. Actual size 17.2" x 26.2" x 5", built to the OEM dimensional spec without adjustment. The BAYFTFR17M is the filter cabinet on a range of Trane and American Standard residential variable-speed and two-stage systems, and the OEM-branded refill is one of the more expensive consumables in the Trane parts catalog. This Aerostar replacement matches the spec at a substantially lower price point. Three MERV grades cover the residential range. MERV 8 for standard household filtration. MERV 11 for pet households or mild allergy concerns. MERV 13 for fine particulate capture including smoke, bacteria, and virus carriers - recommended if anyone in the home has asthma or chronic respiratory issues. The 5-inch depth means service life runs 6 to 12 months in typical residential use, much longer than a 1-inch filter can manage at any MERV grade. Pleated synthetic electrostatic media handles the work, manufactured by Con-Air Industries in Orlando, Florida. The frame is reinforced for the higher airflow rates these whole-house systems pull. If your Trane has a variable-speed blower, that blower is rated for substantial static pressure - any MERV grade in this depth performs well across the system's range.

- GENUINE DEAL
- A real low. Good time to buy.
- INFLATED
- Not a real discount. The 'was' price is not what this really sells for.
- TYPICAL PRICE
- Normal price. Fine to buy if you need it.
- NOT ENOUGH DATA
- Too new to judge. Not enough price history yet.
