6x30x1 Aerostar Air Filter

About this product

A 6x30x1 is one of the most unusual returns in residential HVAC - a narrow, long-slot return common on certain horizontal furnaces and specific air handler configurations where ducting constraints forced an unconventional grille shape. This Aerostar measures 6" x 30" x 1" actual. MERV 8 covers baseline household filtration: dust, lint, pollen. MERV 11 handles pet households and most common allergen concerns. MERV 13 captures fine particulates including bacteria, virus-carrying droplets, and wildfire smoke - the recommended grade for households with respiratory health issues. Pleated synthetic media with an electrostatic charge built into the fibers handles the filtration work. The pleats give you substantially more surface area than a flat fiberglass filter would offer at the same nominal size, which is what extends the service life to 60 to 90 days under typical residential conditions. The electrostatic charge catches sub-micron particles where mechanical filtration alone reaches its physical limits. Manufactured in the USA by Con-Air Industries at the Orlando, Florida facility. The cardboard frame is reinforced to hold shape under blower suction. Narrow, long filters experience proportionally higher bending stress along the long axis, which is exactly the failure point cheap filters give up first - this one is built to keep its shape across the service life.
