About this product
At an actual 15 1/2" x 23 1/2" x 1 3/4", the 16x24x2 Aerostar fits a nominal 16x24x2 return - common in older residential systems and some light commercial applications. The 2-inch depth roughly doubles the debris-holding capacity compared to a 1-inch equivalent, and the lower pressure drop across the deeper pleat is easier on the blower motor. MERV 8 covers baseline household filtration: dust, lint, and pollen. MERV 11 steps up for pet dander, smoke residue, and most allergens. MERV 13 captures fine particulates including bacteria, smoke, and virus-carrying aerosols. The deeper depth makes higher MERV grades more workable - MERV 13 in a 1-inch filter can choke an older system, but the 2-inch version's lower face pressure makes the same MERV rating practical for more installations. Pleated synthetic electrostatic media handles the actual filtration work. Manufactured by Con-Air Industries in Orlando, Florida. Service life runs 4 to 6 months for MERV 8 and 11 in typical residential conditions, 2 to 4 months for MERV 13. Heavy-load environments - multiple pets, active cooking, wildfire smoke - push those intervals shorter regardless of MERV grade.

- GENUINE DEAL
- A real low. Good time to buy.
- INFLATED
- Not a real discount. The 'was' price is not what this really sells for.
- TYPICAL PRICE
- Normal price. Fine to buy if you need it.
- NOT ENOUGH DATA
- Too new to judge. Not enough price history yet.
