MERV 11 handles pet dander, smoke residue, and most household allergens. MERV 13 captures fine particulates including bacteria, virus carriers, and wildfire smoke. The deeper pleat depth makes higher MERV grades more practical because face pressure drops as filter depth increases - MERV 13 in a 2-inch filter is meaningfully easier on the blower than MERV 13 in a 1-inch. Pleated synthetic electrostatic media, USA-made by Con-Air Industries at the Orlando, Florida facility. Cardboard frame, reinforced for shape retention under blower suction. Plan on a 4-to-6-month service interval for MERV 8 and 11 in typical residential conditions, 2 to 4 months for MERV 13 under similar load.
